Board-Certified Podiatrist and Foot & Ankle Surgeon
Board-certified podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Candace Criscione was born and raised in Scituate, Rhode Island, and currently resides in South Kingstown. Dr. Criscione has a special interest in diabetic foot care, wound care and limb salvage, sports medicine, and the surgical correction of biomechanical deformities.
When Dr. Criscione obtained her pre-med undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa in 2010, she was already planning to become a foot and ankle doctor. She went on to earn her medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan. Dr. Criscione then completed a three-year residency training program in foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, Massachusetts. She served as chief resident during her third year in residency.
Dr. Criscione has presented on a variety of topics, including bunionectomies and diabetic foot awareness. In 2017, she participated in Operation Footprint, a mission trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to screen and treat neglected and congenital foot and ankle deformities.
Dr. Criscione takes the health and wellness of her patients seriously – so, she prioritizes building an exceptional rapport with patients. She consistently delivers expert, customized, and compassionate patient care, ensuring that her patients are well-informed about their foot or ankle condition and treatment options.
When she’s not working, Dr. Criscione enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young children, and two Pomeranians. She also enjoys visiting Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as often as possible.
